Chevrolet will unveil many models at the SEMA Show. Among them, the E-10, an electric pickup concept. Proof that the times are really changing.
Who could have imagined that in the land of the V8 that gurgles, we are ecstatic in front of an electric vehicle? Few people still a few years ago, yet it is time for the electrification of models , and so much to do, as much as it is attractive.
That’s what understood Chevrolet that just saw the electronic sauce a 1962 C-10 pickup . Created for the upcoming SEMA Show, the Las Vegas customization show, the E-10 Concept takes the Chevrolet Bolt’s electric motor with two additional engines and two 60 kWh batteries in the body.
The whole develops a power of about 450 horses sent to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission. The acceleration is, of course, quite impressive thanks to the immediate pair, with a 0 to 96 km / h shot in about 5 seconds . Chevrolet has thought of everything since the E-10 is equipped with speakers broadcasting several sounds like that of a V8 or a machine of the future.
Not only jaws
“We wanted to create a model that delivers as much power as autonomy. It’s very exciting since we are only at the beginning. What we have done in recent years with our high-performance heat engines, we will continue to do with electric propulsion, “ said Russ O’Blenes, Director of Performance Versions of Chevrolet.
One thing is certain, the E-10 does not leave indifferent with a neo-retro look decidedly well muscled. We particularly like the lowered ride height, the 22-inch rims at the rear (20 inches at the front) and the backlit bow-tie logo. The interior has also been completely restored with stitched leather seats and digital counters. A mix between 60’s and future!
