Xiaomi introduced this Wednesday, Nov. 6 a new member of the Redmi range, the Redmi Note 8T. This smartphone less than 200 euros has no less than four photo sensors on its back and many other surprises.
The Redmi range is enriched with the Redmi Note 8T which just slips below the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Presented at the same time as the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, it will replace in the next weeks the excellent Redmi Note 7 advance a promising technical sheet and a price below 200 euros. Xiaomi continues to evolve in the right direction its entry-level offer. Here are our first impressions of this smartphone that we took in hand.
A solid technical sheet
The Redmi Note 8T retains the lines of the Redmi Note 7. The front and back are covered by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The new smartphone from Xiaomi also benefits from a special nano-coating that makes it splash-resistant. A fingerprint reader is placed on the back of the device.
Its 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen displays a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. A slab that offers the first area a good reading comfort.
While the configuration of the Redmi Note 7 was based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip, the Redmi Note 8T performs a small update by opting for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. It is associated with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable internal memory. This configuration should be ample enough to ensure smooth navigation.
Photo side, the Redmi Note 8T is full of goals. As a reminder, the Redmi Note 7 hosts on its back a main sensor of 48 million pixels and a depth sensor of 5 million pixels. Here is what we find on his successor:
- A main objective of 48 million pixels opening at f / 1.79
- An ultra wide-angle lens (120 °) of 8 million pixels
- A macro lens of 2 million pixels
- A depth sensor of 2 million pixels
We tested it indoors alongside a strong artificial light. Conditions far from optimal in short. Result, renders are exploitable but smoothing is ubiquitous. At the front, the Redmi Note 8T is adorned with a sensor of 13 million pixels (f / 2.0). Unlike the Redmi Note 7, the Redmi Note 8T is NFC compatible. It also has a USB-C port and a 3.5 mm mini-jack port. Finally, it hosts a 4000 mAh battery compatible fast charge 18W.
